Transformers: Combiner Wars Animated Series for Adults

A new Transformers animated series has been announced by Hasbro and Machinima called Transformers: Combiner Wars, the premiere date for their joint animated series will be on August 2 and will be displayed on Facebook, Youtube, and new social entertainment platform go90. The studio also premiered images from the show at the Cannes Lion Festival.


The series would introduce a “new lore and all-new characters that, combined with the characters fans have known for decades, will bring the Transformers storytelling in a new direction as the Machinima series will deliver raging action and signature humor to legions of Transformers fans.”

Additionally, a four episode Prelude to the Combiner Wars prequel will also premiere on the same platforms.


“Machinima is known as a leader of the digital content space and has tremendous creative talent within their network. We are excited to partner with them to tell a new kind of Transformers story for the digital generation,” said Stephen Davis, Chief Content Officer of Hasbro. “The writers, artists and voice actors working on this series are all true fans of the franchise, and their love for these characters really shines through in Combiner Wars.”


“Transformers is one of the most beloved franchises in the world and Machinima is thrilled to work with Hasbro to bring Transformers: Combiner Wars to today’s social video platforms,” said Chad Gutstein, CEO of Machinima. “Our audience loves these characters and Combiner Wars has been a true ‘for the fans, by the fans’ effort. We can’t wait to give fans a preview of the series during Cannes.”

The series will launch in August on go90 but you can watch the four-episode prelude series on June 28 acoss YouTube, Facebook, and go90.

The art style definitely looks cool and more mature than previous Transformers animated shows. I just hope the animation would be as slick.
